Critical, cynical and skeptical.
They're critical of the government, opposition, corporations, even influential NGOs aka people who possess immense wealth and/or power, thus prone to abuse their power, wealth and prestige in society.
They're cynical. They believe people often act out of self-interest rather than for noble / honourable reasons.
They're skeptical. They questioned everything. Well, they're not supposed to be trusting, especially when dealing with PR practitioners. *blek*
That's a lot of negativity combined. Probably explains why journalists aren't always the friendliest people on earth. Editors are worse. (stereotyping here =P)
I admit I'm critical and skeptical, especially of people in position of power / that belong to the "elite" class (royalties, celebrities, politicians etc). I trust intellectuals with a sense of justice a little more than others.
I'm not cynical though, at least not yet. I believe positive change is possible, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa, Martin J Luther King, Rosa Parks...including people behind them, have proved it time and again that everything is possible, as long as you have the will.
